Neverwhere, Rebirth

Between this world and the next, there
exists a place like no other, a place where Magic
still fills the land, a place where those things from
ones imagination exist, where people are truly
free to be the person that they are. Stories of
this place, the events that transpire there, the
people that live in it, are told in the world that we
live in, but people today don't see them as fact,
merely as fairy tales to entertain the children.
If they knew the truth, they might not laugh at
the stories, and instead have faith, that maybe,
just maybe, one day the Magic would return to
the world in which they live.

Clues about this other world exist, if one
takes the time to look for them. Children, being
more open minded to things both Magical and
frightening, see these clues far more than
adults do, be it something as tiny as a stream
Pixie's dust glittering in the moon light to
something as big as a monster lurking under
their bed. They try to tell their parents about these
things, but only a rare few, those who, when they
were children, experienced the same sensations,
the same hope that Magic, true Magic, might
exist in the land, listen to their children, and don't
dismiss these sightings or feelings as an over-active
imagination.

Even rarer then those few clues, there have
been cases where children, and, in even rarer cases,
adults, have been able to access this other world. One
story tells of a boy named Peter who was able to
fly and fought with Pirates, though the tale has become
rather embellished with time and telling. Another
tells of a girl named Alice who had many adventures
in this land of Magic, and another tale named the
land as Oz. The tellings of these stories most
always star a child, though there are tales
where the heroes are young adults, though never
anybody over the age of 20 has come through
from the other side, from the world without Magic.

Dark times have fallen upon the land of Magic. Evil
has slowly rept it's way across the land, engulfing
everything in it's path, turning the once fair citizens
into plae shades of their former selves. Only one
land remains untouched from Evils cold embrace,
a land that has become overrun with refugees
from other cities and towns. Heroes are in desperate
need to stand and face the darkness without fear.
A group of nine have been chosen, plucked from
the world they know to fight the evergrowing
darkness. It is their destiny, to become those
Heroes of stories, to give hope to a land of people.

Welcome to Neverwhere




Ok, so thats a basic little plot outline. All our characters are going to start out as Senior's in High School (17-18 Years old) who, while serving detention after school for some reason, who fall asleep and end up in a strange land when they wake up. First couple post's will be in the school classroom to get a feel for our characters and then we'll move on to the adventure. The world of Neverwhere is similar to that of the 17th to 19th centuries, mixed with Magic. Imagine airships, wizards, trains and boats (both mechanical and magical), knights, swordsmen and gunmen weilding flintlock pistols and revolvers. Now onto the rules.

When you first enter neverwhere you will get a weapon of your choice but it has to be a more hand me down later in the rp you will get your better weapons and also learn magic. So start with an old weapon then you work your way up whether it be by stealing your weapon, finding, given or buying. sorry if i had notmade that clear

1:No God-like characters. We're all still kids, so nobody should be able to take on armies of people right from the start. Obvisouly our charaters will get better and better as they go along and learn about the world, but until then, imagine being a white belt in Karate fighting a 6th degree black belt.
2:Long, detailed posts. Im looking for at least 3 paragraphs of 5 or more lines, hopefully more (of both). The idea behind that is to get people committed to their character, to want to see hwo things work out in the end.
3:Dedicated people only please! I would realy realy like to see this out to the end, and, if this goes well (which Im hoping for) to possible make it a series.
4:Have fun! The possibilities in a thread like this are damn-near limtless, which opens up a whole lot of options for fun and crazy things to happen, both to add to the story and entertainment value that everybody gets out of it.
5:don't be afraid to add to the story. I want everybody to help out with the story, the NPC's in it (creating new ones, expanding on ones already created, etc.). Again this adds in my hopes that everybody will become invested in the thread and want to see it through, but please, don't do any drastic changes. If you have something drastic in mind, PM me and we'll discuss it.
